Packed a Whole Lot of Living into a Few Years

I am a woman who has packed a lot of living into a small amount of years therefore, I am aged mentally well beyond my physical years. I found out I was pregnant with my first child one month and five days after I turned sixteen years old. This may come as a shock to some, but I was absolutely ecstatic. My mother had passed away four years earlier and my family life was difficult and next to non-existent. I will never forget the words that came out of my father's mouth when I told him about the pregnancy. "You might as well get an abortion because you're going to [mess] that babies life up anyways." Little did he know the drive and fire those words put into my heart to prove him wrong.

Two weeks after delivering my 8lb. 15oz. son by emergency Cesarean Section, my sister came to me and asked me for a sizable amount of money.  She said that if I did not give it to her my son and I would have to, "Get out!" Scared of being kicked out with a newborn I handed the last of my money over to her. About a week later she came to me and confessed that she had used the money to get an abortion. I looked at my newborn son and thought to myself,  "I fought to keep you and then helped kill my niece or nephew."

That was almost eight years ago. My son's father and I are married and have added two daughters to the family. I've traveled a very rough and bumpy road and have been through things that many people NEVER go through and I am proud to say I made it... We made it. When you feel that you're at your lowest always think to yourself,  "Well there is no where left to go but UP!" At the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, we are here to help you back up your path with loving arms, listening ears, and waiting shoulders. Battles weren't meant to be fought alone and Silent No More will be your Army!
