A Campaign for an Inner Healing

I had an abortion because I was in school and I felt that, if I had my baby, then my life would be changed, and I would be a burden on my parents. During the abortion experience I had a lot of pain and I saw Jesus in the operating room with a mournful heart--and still did not have the courage to leave. I also remember fluorescent lighting being so bright but I felt so dark inside.
After the abortion, I was very sorrowful and felt I was in a very dark place. I couldn't wait to feel better.
The long term impact was one of drugs, alcohol, and promiscuity. I had relationship problems. As time went on, I drifted further and further away from my family and also God, but I was so unaware of all this damage. I was filled with so much shame and guilt, hurt, anger.
As time went on, I slowly started to turn to God and pray and pray. Finally, one day I went to a pro-life rally and heard a woman speak of a healing with God and all I could think is, "I want that.” So I embarked on a campaign for an inner healing. I found help and forgiveness through Rachel's Vineyard, Holy Love, EWTN. After years of pain, I went on a healing journey through Rachel's Vineyard and was able to receive God's forgiveness, and I am free of the enemy's chains and that is why I am silent no more.
