Garden of the Absent Opening Ceremony 2010

The first memorial for the unborn in Spain, called The Garden of the Absent, which is, at the same time, a healing experience for their mothers. It lasted four hours and included a Presentation with videos on the spiritual and scientific outlook on Life, prayer time (the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chapelet), a Mass, a procession to the Memorial  and the planting of a flower for each child that was honored that day: 50 of them, by 50 people. Twenty of them read testimonies of post-abortive Latin American mothers who are in on-line therapy with No Más Silencio Spain, and planted a flower for their children in their name. The rest planted a flower for the other 30 anonymous children, asking them to pray for us and for their parents (as all the others did too). After that we all read a prayer together, called A Great Prayer for Life to the Holy Innocents of abortion. The pedestal of the monument read “In memoriam of the victims of abortion and for motherly love to bloom” and on the sides it had quotes on the martyrdom of the holy innocents of abortion and on God’s mercy for their mothers (see pictures). At the end, we played the symphony called Bethlehem 2000 that was composed by a musician friend of ours for John Paul II and interpreted for him in Rome at the Jubileum Ceremony. It’s a lullaby of Our Lady to the Child Jesus and to all the victims of abortion. At the closing of the hymn, in the Alleluya, two white doves were freed by two post-abortive mothers, symbolizing their children and all the children honored that day. When they flew up, four other doves came immediately to greet them and they all flew over the Garden for a while. The ceremonies of The Garden of the Absent will take place every month on the morning of the first Saturday, and will be just like the first one. The Garden of the Absent is a registered format for reparation and redemption of abortion for women and for all society.
