A Lifetime of Consequences

Hello there. I’m Irene Zamorano. I’m a regional coordinator for Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties through the Bay Area. About eleven years ago I had my abortion. I was twenty-four weeks, six months. I walked into the clinic. I felt like I had number on my back and dollar sign on my face. As soon as the abortionist administered the medicine in my stomach, instantaneously I felt my daughter kick, twist and punch. Later I found out because she was being burned. It was a two day procedure because the second day they were going to tear her piece form piece from my body. After I felt her fight for her life I went to a local labor and delivery, but the Doctor told me that the healthy heartbeat that I heard over the monitor would soon deteriorate because of the poison they gave me in my stomach. The next day I was left with the daunting task of planning her funeral. I few days later we buried her. You see abortion is not a quick fix. It left me with a lifetime of consequences; lifetime of depression, anxiety and eating disorder. I had to tell my seven children that the mother they knew who fed them, the mother they knew who was overprotective of them, the mother they knew to nurture them was the same mother that ended the life of their sister. You see, Father Pavone is right when he said, “Women, don’t have abortions because of freedom of choice. They have abortions because they have no freedom and no choice.” Thank you.
