April is Abortion Recovery Awareness Month in U.S.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact:  Leslie Palma -  917-697-7039

TITUSVILLE, FL -- Pro-life and healing ministries throughout the country have designated the month of April as Abortion Recovery Awareness Month, Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, announced today.

“Our nation finds itself at a crossroads, with the possibility that in the near future the unborn will be protected from abortion in many states, while other states will advertise themselves as abortion destinations, with financing available through major corporations and taxpayer dollars.

“But no matter where or how often abortion occurs, one thing remains constant: Mothers who lose children to abortion - and fathers, too - need healing, as does the whole family.”

The largest ministry in the world offering healing after abortion is Rachel’s Vineyard, a ministry of Priests for Life. This ministry offers weekend retreats, as well as individual follow-up.

Closely related to it is the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, a joint project of Priests for Life and Anglicans for Life. This ministry enables those who have experienced abortion and found healing to share their stories.

Father Pavone, who serves as pastoral director for both Rachel’s Vineyard and Silent No More, noted that people searching for a healing program can go to

AbortionForgiveness.com, enter a ZIP code in the search box and find the program closest to them.

“This is a website that we at Silent No More have established,” he said. “Those who may not feel ready yet to attend a program can still find help.

At AbortionTestimony.com you can read the stories of mothers and fathers who made the choice for abortion and how it impacted them. For people wounded by abortion, just knowing they are not alone can be the first step toward healing.

Some of the things planned for Abortion Recovery Awareness Month include a new feature on the Rachel’s Vineyard website, “Submit a Question,” which allows those in need to quickly reach out for help. Questions are answered daily and have helped many people connect with the resources appropriate to their needs.

Live broadcasts throughout the month we will teach about the wounds of abortion and about the many opportunities that exist for healing. These will air on multiple online platforms on April 4 at 11 a.m. ET; April 11 at 11 a.m. ET; April 19 at 2 p.m. ET, and April 25 at 11 a.m. ET. There will also be a special seminar for clergy on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Find out more at www.EndAbortion.TV.

Kevin Burke, co-founder of Rachel’s Vineyard, hosts a weekly program on those same channels called Oceans of Mercy, at 9 p.m. ET every Tuesday. This program focuses on the impact of abortion on individuals, families and relationships.

Priests for Life is the world’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated exclusively to ending abortion. For more information, visit www.EndAbortion.US.
